Thursday practice sessions

A big thank you to everyone who has been coming along to our Thursday evening practice sessions. You have contributed to making the sessions a great success and we hope everyone is having fun.

So that we can keep the sessions enjoyable for all, just some polite reminders.

  • Please remember to book using the online spreadsheet. If you book and subsequently are unable to come, please remove your name so the space can be used by someone else.
  • Any help in setting out or packing up equipment is greatly appreciated. Many hands really does make for lighter work. Thanks!
  • While we do limit the number of spaces available to ensure a good amount of table time for all, there may be times when you have a short wait for a free table. Please be patient and please be conscious if there are people waiting when you are practising on a table. With up to 6 tables and our limit on numbers, everyone should be able to get plenty of table time for a fulfilling session.

Thank you for your support.

Finally, if any of you have any feedback about how we can improve the sessions, we welcome any comments or suggestions.

Club 6th anniversary and double elimination tournament

A big thank you to everyone who came to our club's 6th anniversary practice session, for the contributions to the snack mountain and joining in playing in the informal double elimination tournament. Fun had by all, so we will try to organise something similar in the coming weeks. Disclaimer: we are not responsible for the calorific value of any food consumed!

The results are below.

Highlights:

  • Nat Richardson won a close final against Tom Watmore. In fairness to Tom, he is entitled to a re-match having undefeated through the winners' bracket to get to the final, so has only lost once. Unfortunately, we ran out of time to run the re-match.
  • Mark Wheeler inflicted Nat's only loss of the tournament, but lost to Tom in the following round which meant a re-match with Nat in the Losers' bracket and revenge for Nat.
  • Birthday boy (well, old man) Ian Wu lost twice to Nat. Clearly Nat had not read the instructions that Ian was supposed to win heroically on his XXth birthday.

NDTTA Summer League

For those thinking about entering a team in the NDTTA Summer League, we are happy to act as a home venue for up to 4 teams. The arrangements are set out below.

  • Kintbury TTC has capacity as a home venue for up to 4 summer league teams on a first come first served basis. This enables us to keep providing enough tables for free practising as usual on Thursdays. Home night for summer league teams will be Thursday.
  • Teams can consist of players from any club. They do not have to be players who play for Kintbury teams in the winter league or regular attendees of practice sessions. If there is demand for more than 4 teams, priority will be given to teams which consist of mostly Kintbury players.
  • The cost will be £10 per home match per team. The team captain will be charged monthly for home matches played. It is up to teams how the cost is allocated amongst the players. This covers exclusive use of a match table for the duration of the match. After the match has been completed, players can stay on for the practice session at no extra charge but the match table reverts to being a normal practice table, available for all attendees.
  • Follow these steps to enter a team, noting the deadline dates.
  1. Please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to confirm space availability if you want to use Kintbury TTC as a home venue for the summer league. (By Friday 16th June. We will confirm availability by Sunday 18th June)
  2. Teams are responsible for entering their team via the NDTTA website NDTTA Summer League (By Monday 19th June)
  3. Teams will be responsible for entering a home match on our practice session booking spreadsheet. Please enter your match in 3 slots on the spreadsheet. If a match is postponed or cancelled, please do remove your booking as soon as possible. (By the Monday before each home match)

Good luck and have fun!

P.S. One of the spaces has already been confirmed for the Pilgrims team.

Practice sessions 2nd/9th June, Kintbury Summer Fete

An early reminder this week about signing up for upcoming Kintbury practice sessions. 2nd June is a public holiday, half-term week and the start of the Jubilee weekend. We will run the practice session IF there are at least 4 people signed up by the end of Tuesday 31st May. If there are not enough people signed up, we will have to cancel the session and email those already signed up. This gives us just enough time to cancel our hall booking if necessary. Link to the booking spreadsheet below.

KTTC Practice Session Booking

The practice session on 9th June occurs on the 6th anniversary of our club opening. In addition to our normal practice session, we will hold an informal, double elimination tournament. No birthday event is complete without some celebration, so snacks and refreshments will be on offer.

There is a Summer fete at the Jubilee Centre and adjoining football club on Saturday 4th June 11:00-15:00. We will be participating in the Jubilee Centre with a table and robot set up. Please come along and say hello if you are free.
