Kintbury Table Tennis Club was proud to host a Zonal final of the Wilmott Cup for Men. The Wilmott Cup is part of the English Leagues Cup Competition which is the oldest domestic competition run by Table Tennis England. For the 2021/22 season, the competitions mark the 100th anniversary of the Association.

Newbury, represented by David Barr and Sam Ricks, finished a highly creditable 3rd out of 6 teams. There was strong competition and Plymouth who finished top have both their players ranked in the top 100 in England. A few photos to give you a taste of the excelllent table tennis on show.

A write up of the matches can be found on the NDTTA website (NDTTA Wilmot Cup article) and more photos here (Wilmott Cup photos).

Practice sessions during the league season

Practice sessions during the league season

We will continue to have practice tables available every Thursday and booking using the spreadsheet (link below) will continue to be required beforehand. You might have noticed that some weeks will have spaces pre-allocated for home matches. This is there to set a limit of the number of practice slots to ensure everyone has a good amount of table time.

KTTC Practice Session Booking spreadsheet

The cost will continue to be £4 per practice session and the monthly billing in arrears by email and payment by bank transfer arrangement will stay the same.

Since Kintbury players are likely to be involved in home matches, there will not be a designated practice session lead. It will be on a self-service basis only. So please set up and put away any equipment yourselves. With a maximum of 2 home matches taking place on the night, this should be possible with the minimum of disturbance to matches taking place. Please do bear that in mind when packing up and leaving the hall.

Occasionally, there could be new players coming for their first visit to Kintbury so please do welcome them if the Kintbury players are occupied with matches.

Thanks again for your support and cooperation. It does all help to make the sessions run smoothly.

Email if you have any questions or comments. Hope you enjoy your table tennis, whether practice or matchplay!
